Salma is our 9 y/o tabby. I've had her since my college years so I like to say that's she an educated cat. She's a very affectionate and sweet cat and loves being on my lap demanding attention. She is Queen Bee and doesn't take any crap from the dogs. She's been known to occassionally take her afternoon nap right in the middle of the giant dog bed and there's nothing the dogs will do about it, except watch.....from a distance.
Zena is a Russian blue mix we rescued a couple of years ago from a maintenance shed at work. The
trapper had been called out to take her off to the local shelter (which is a kill shelter). She came right to me so I took her to the vet to get checked out before taking her home "until I could find a good home for her." The vet treated the big gash on one of her hind legs which he thought might be from a bird trying to carry her off....so I named her Zena- like the 'warrior princess'. She became best friends with our oldest dog so we decided to keep her. She's loves playing with her doggies, but is skiddish around new people. She can be very vocal when she wants to be.
